Participatory GIS and Land Use Planning

The e-book edited by Francoise Orban-Ferauge, and launched at La Salle Bacolod City, aims to clarify the notions of Participatory Geography, People’s Empowerment, Quadripartite Partnership, and Power Sharing, in an action-oriented research that highlights the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

One of the goals in the 2009-2016 National Urban Development Framework is the urban system to be effective and efficient and an important tool toward this is the use of GIS, starting with land use planning. The author of the e-book informs practitioners and interested citizens and organizations that wider participation in GIS is possible.

The book is available at FUNDP.
