These remind me of a story told by a former senior colleague who was on an official trip to Canada. He didn’t avail of the usual practice of having the host office take care of travel details. Instead, he booked himself an accommodation in a Bed and Breakfast. There was no one when he arrived at the place – it was a weekend – but he found a welcome note and the key to his room by the door. What caught my interest was the fact that the key wasn’t stolen or something. There are still places where folks are trusting because there are also honest folks.
