“Good Behavior Observance Week”

The Professional Heckler, a blogger I follow, describes the current state of the nation thus:  POPE FRANCIS is in the Philippines for a 5-day pastoral and state visit. Or as many Filipino Catholics call it, “Good Behavior Observance Week.”

To substantiate, GMA Network reports that the police has verified that crime rate in Metro Manila has been virtually zero since Pope Francis’ arrival Thursday afternoon.

On print media, Cito Beltran, columnist at Philippine Star, expounds on a similar observation, that of the ability of Philippine Government and the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines to show a united front.

Wow. What do we make of that? Regardless, I hope the situation is sustained throughout 2015.
